Tips: How to Prepare your track for Mastering
- Export your mix as an interleaved WAV or AIFF file at the same sample rate and bit depth as your session.
- Leave at least -6dB of headroom.
- Leave a few seconds of silence at the beginning and end of your track.
- Leave bus compression on your mix.
- Remove any limiters on the master bus.
- Make sure stems – sub-mixes all have the same start point, sample rate, bit depth and file format.
- Do not normalise your bounced mix or stems.
